The church itself is home to a wealth of stories that take us back centuries in time: to the church s beginnings in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries when it was still a richly decorated Catholic church, and to the seventeenth century when the Dutch Republic experienced its Golden Age as a result of overseas trade.
